Jim from Adelaide Cyclists had a "near death" encounter today

Damned inconvenient, this just as my health and fitness was improving dramatically.
I was aware of the risks with carbon bikes but there are so many out there. This one was very long considered and my absolute pride and joy, as I`ve mentioned elsewhere, I have not even owned a motor vehicle as expensive.
Any way I`m hoping for a quick replacement so as to keep my newly gotten momentum.
We all have so many close calls as daily riders that I s`pose it is inevitable that this will happen to some of us.
I was even reluctant to go in group rides on this bike as I`ve seen some poor bike handling in some groups...that`s not to say that I`m any expert bike handler just careful and cautious.
I can live with bike damage and injury to my person or equipment if it is my own fault, but this I find is extremely difficult to cop.

I would like to thank the driver though for her assistance after the event with police, a lift to the bike shop and then home. Also her prompt attention to insurance.
