BikeDirect
Bikedirect is a network of bicycle routes that has been developed by the Department for Transport, Energy and Infrastructure to encourage cycling by providing a variety of options for cyclists with different needs and abilities. The network identifies main roads, bicycle lanes, local streets and off-road paths within the Adelaide metropolitan area.Eagle Mountain Bike Park
The Eagle Mountain Bike Park has been developed by the South Australian Government with assistance from local councils, cycling organisations, mountain bike clubs, vegetation management groups and volunteers. It provides a network of trails including 21km of cross country trails, a downhill trail, a skills development park, a jumps park and a trials area. It is located in the Adelaide Hills, approximately 12km South East of the Adelaide CBD.There are additional mountain bike trail networks established in Forestry SA Reserves. These include areas such as Cudlee Creek, Cromer and Prospect Hill. More information is available from www.forestry.sa.gov.au.
Encounter Bikeway
The Encounter Bikeway is 30km shared bicycle/pedestrian path between Encounter Bay and Goolwa.Mawson Trail
The Mawson Trail is an off-road cycling trail from Adelaide to Blinman in the Flinders Ranges. This trail is approximately 900km in length and passes through some of the most beautiful and diverse regions of South Australia.Riesling Trail
The Riesling Trail in the Clare Valley runs for 25km along the old Riverton to Spalding railway line. The trail runs between the towns of Clare and Auburn, approximately two hours drive north of Adelaide. It is suitable for road bikes, recreational walkers, wheelchairs and pushers.River Torrens Linear Park
The River Torrens Linear Park is a shared bicycle/pedestrian path from Athelstone or Tea Tree Gully in the north east, via the city, to Henley Beach. Great for recreation, or for commuting to the city.Southern Veloway
The Southern Veloway is a sealed bikeway that runs alongside the Southern Expressway from Marion Road/South Road from Darlington through Reynella and Noarlunga to McLaren Vale. The path then continues as a shared bicycle/pedestrian path to Willunga.Sturt River Linear Park
The Sturt River Linear Park is a 6.5km shared bicycle/pedestrian path from South Road, Darlington to Glenelg, linking to the Westside Bikeway (route to City) and the Southern Veloway.
Westside Bikeway
The Westside Bikeway is a shared bicycle/pedestrian path following the old railway corridor from South Road, Hilton to Morphett Road, Camden Par- Printer-friendly version
