Cyclists riding the popular beach run to Outer Harbor along Lady Gowrie Drive are celebrating with not only the news that a bike lane will be installed but work has commenced. Cyclist Trevor Collins wrote on Adelaide Cyclists "they have already completed from Strathfield Terrace, Taperoo down to Osborne and look like they will continue on to Lady Ruthven Drive, North Haven. I personally thanked some of the workers as I rode past them and hope any other riders do the same."
This is not the only new lane to be marked out recently. Glynburn Rd from Magill Rd to Glynd Corner has had a lane installed, extending the lane all the way from Greenhill Rd, and Portrush Rd, Lower Portrush at Marden and Ascott Ave at Vale Park has seen new lanes installed and existing ones repainted as a part of road works.
All of these new works do help make cycling safer during these darker, wetter months in Adelaide.
